Zurab Topuridze is our kind of winemaker: believing in minimal intervention, organic farming and only using indigenous grape varieties, he is getting back to the basics of wine. The family’s aim is to maintain the authentic tradition of qvevri winemaking in Georgia, producing unique natural wines to be enjoyed with friends & family. This red is made using 100% Saperavi, a grape not too dissimilar from Northern Rhone Syrah crossed with Pinot Noir. Aged in qvevri, it is a truly authentic Georgian wine. Light-medium bodied, the enticing flavours of ripe red forest fruits, blackberry, spice and smoke are enveloped by elegant tannins and a gently lingering acidity. A great wine to pair with game or red sauces.
